About This Project

As a Conservation Architect, Simon Gratton led the project to repair and conserve the school bell tower at Pilsey in Derbyshire.

Careful records were prepared of the fabric of the structure through measured survey and drawings to help inform the conservation process.

Working with dedicated skilled craftsmen, we removed the tower to a workshop for careful evaluation, selective repair and conservation.

The photo gallery illustrates the complexity of the project and the careful process of re-building that we undertook.
